| HOW
DOES IT WORK?
Remote Control & Monitoring
The object of our system is to enable the end user and system
engineer to have easy to use remote control of almost any
small to medium domestic, commercial or industrial installation
system at an affordable price. Remote control can save energy
and money by having the convenience to switch and change settings
and get readouts of what is happening. Monitoring in commercial
use opens up many possibilities to help the user.
With remote commercial locations, it reduces the number of
service visits and can feedback required information to engineers.
In industrial applications, this can save an enormous amount
of time for the system operator and maintenance engineer.
This is not new, but most of the equipment on the market is
made for very small or very large systems. The object of this
product is to use an easy to program Crozet M3 logic controller
as the interface to your system with our M3 to web interface.
System readings can be charted on selected outputs with the
option of displaying graphs to show trends.
• By using a standard CTs and a maths block in the
M3, electricity usage can be monitored.
• By using a water meter with two temperature sensors
and maths block, wet energy can be monitored.
• By using electronic depth gauge, pulsed oil flow meter
or 0-10volt output meter, tank stored fuel can be metered.
(Please note that these readings may not be used for sale
of energy, they are for internal usage only)
Comms
 |
There are two options with
reguard to comms, either Pay As You Go or fixed IP sim.
With Pay As You Go, the cost is slightly less but you
can only update inputs when the equipments sends in reports.
This interval is whatever you set the report interval
timer at unless there is alarm triggered in the system.
With fixed IP you can send in updates as often as you
like which will get through within a few minutes together
with a return update. If you need to make regular changes,
this is probably the best option to choose. |
Website and Server Reliability
On the website there are three levels of customer access:
• Engineer access - full access to change control parameters
• User Access - to change selected output settings
• User read only
The telcon and server program has been built by our partners,
Ravenbridge
Ltd, to a standard generic website. However, if you require
a personalised website, our other partners, iResoultions
Website Design Ltd, will bbe able to assist you.
There are two options for the web access:
• Use our server, accessed through your password protected
web page, at a monthly rental for the service
• Use your server with a program designed for your use
with an annual licence fee
The programmed java box for the site end can be outright purchased
from Electair.
Reliability
As with all web and mobile phone linked systems, there is
a possibility of loss of communication. However, we have three
cross linked servers in different locations to handle local
outages at our end. This system polls each site in order to
send and receive updates.
Mobile phone networks are now very reliable.
Crouzet systems have proved very reliable. When the Crouzet
is programmed it is possible to build in default values that
the system can default to if signal is lost for set time.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is very important not
to use this system to start equipment that could cause injury
or risk of fire.
